Dr. Mirela Alhasani conducts a COST- aligned scientific mission at the Cultural studies department at TU Dortmund, GERMANY

We are pleased to inform you that Dr. Mirela Alhasani,  academic staff member at the Center for European Studies at EPOKA University, has successfully carried a scientific visit framed from 15.09.2025-19.09.2025 at the Technical University of Dortmund in Germany themed "Language, Identity and Minority Communities – Insights from Irish to Albanian Case Study".  This mission was performed as a workshop by Dr. Mirela and Dr. Maggie Glass the host from the Cultural Studies department of TUD.  This analytical workshop offered to undergraduate and graduate students of Cultural Studies programs was aligned with the objectives and aims of the Working Group 1 and Working Group3 of the Cost Action 23105 : PLURINGMEDIA. The main goal of this action is to study the changing landscape of minority languages in light of media predominantly in English thus, identifying the new role of social media to endorse further preservation of minority languages in marginalized communities. 

The mission delved in the case of Albanian language political identity and its status in Balkans and diaspora and the need to utilize social media similar to the research methodology of Irish fanom studied by Dr. Maggie Glass. 

 

We also are looking forward to boosting institutional collaboration between our EPOKA university in Tirana and TU Dortmund University within PLURILINGMEDIA COST Action and beyond.
