During April 17-21, 2023, Dr. Niuton Mulleti participated in the Teaching Mobility program in the framework of the ongoing Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) Agreement between EPOKA University and the University of Salerno (UNISA) in Italy.
In this context, Dr. Mulleti delivered lectures on EU Institutions and Policies to the students of the integrated 5-year program in Law offered by the Department of Legal Sciences (School of Law) of UNISA, with a particular focus on the enlargement process as an integral part of EU foreign policy.
On the occasion of the visit to UNISA, Dr. Niuton Mulleti also participated in the activities of the Jean Monnet Chair in Promoting Public Awareness on Enlargement Policy, EU Values, and the Western Balkans’ Accession (EUVALWEB). The EUVALWEB Jean Monnet Chair is managed by the Department of Legal Sciences (School of Law) of UNISA with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teresa Russo as a Chair Holder.
EPOKA University is a partner institution at the EUVALWEB Jean Monnet Chair which focuses on the evolution of EU enlargement policy and its implications in the construction of EU identity based on its core values (Article 2 TEU), as well as on the EU strategy toward the Western Balkans, specifically in the field of Cooperation on Justice and Home Affairs (JHA).
In this framework, on April 20, 2023, Dr. Mulleti delivered the lecture titled “The External Dimension of the JHA Cooperation and the nexus with the tasks of the CSDP Missions in the Western Balkans” in the Jean Monnet Joint Seminar titled “Integration and Cooperation Challenges in the EU Area of Freedom, Security and Justice” which was co-organized by the EUVALWEB Jean Monnet Chair and the Jean Monnet Module titled “Democracy and the Rule of Law: A New Push for European Values (EU-DRAW) also managed by Department of Legal Sciences (School of Law) of UNISA. Furthermore, on April 21, 2023, Dr. Mulleti delivered the lecture titled “Perspectives of the Western Balkan Countries on the Further Eastward Enlargement of the EU” in the seminar organized as part of the activities of the EUVALWEB Legal Observatory.
During his visit to UNISA, Dr. Niuton Mulleti also held meetings with the faculty members from the Department of Legal Sciences (School of Law) of UNISA with a view to the further expansion of the existing excellent bilateral cooperation between the Department of Legal Sciences (School of Law) of UNISA and the Department of Law (Faculty of Law and Social Sciences) of EPOKA University, and he also met with exchange students from the integrated second cycle study program in Law offered by EPOKA who are currently carrying out an Erasmus+ mobility at the Department of Legal Sciences (School of Law) of UNISA.
