On May 28, 2013, a Training Seminar was organised by the Politics Club of Epoka University on the importance of the use of seat belts by drivers and passengers alike. Mr. Erjon Kristo and Mr. Orion Kulo delivered a very interesting presentation to the Epoka University students on the importance of the use of seat belts by drivers and passengers in terms of minimizing the risk associated with traffic accidents that lead to the loss of human life or serious injuries causing permanent disability.
The use of seat belts reduces by 50% the casualties and injuries caused by traffic accidents and it is of particular importance to countries such as Albania characterised by one of the highest traffic accident rates in Europe as well as a very low use of seat belts by drivers and even less by passengers.
The presenters pointed out the importance of raising awareness among students as a crucial segment of society that will have a direct and tangible impact in spreading the use of seat belts as well as in entrenching a preventive and risk mitigation culture among the Albanian society.
