Study Visit in Salzburg in the framework of the QAinAL project

Epoka University is an equal partner in the project’s consortium granted by the European Commission, “Strategic support on strengthening the quality assurance structures at the private higher education institutions in Albania” project no. 561510-EPP-1-2015-1-AT-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP (QAinAL). The Project is led by the Salzburg University and the kick-off meeting of the project was held at the premises of Epoka University. 
In the framework of the project, a study visit was organized to the University of Salzburg on September 28-30, 2016 and Epoka University was represented by its staff members, including Dr. Islam Jusufi, Head of the Academic Evaluation and Quality Improvement  Board as well as the Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Mr. Ervin Sulika, Coordinator, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Mr. Tekim Peza - Coordinator, Faculty of Architecture and Engineering and Ms. Erinda Imeraj - Academic Coordinator of the Banking and Finance (Albanian) study program as well as Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Banking and Finance, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. 
The delegation of the Epoka University and of other universities participating in the study visit was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Fatima Ferreira, Vice-rector for research at the University of Salzburg, Prof. Dr. Arne Bathke, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Salzburg, and Prof. Mag. Dr. Peter Eckl, Chairman of the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology. The visit was organized in the form of different informative sessions and presentations while sharing the experience of the University of Salzburg in various fields of academic education and teaching, including research, teaching, quality control, student services, library, and project management. The presentations were followed up by group discussions. The study visit also included opportunity to visit firstly the Faculty of the Natural Sciences of University of Salzburg, continuing in the second day at the University Library and the Assembly Hall of the Senate and closing at the Unipark Nonntal of University of Salzburg.
All the sessions and visits were designed to provide valuable input for different academic and administrative offices operating within a university. Epoka University delivered a presentation on its quality control structure and highlighted issues that may be of need of development in the field of quality control.
