Within the framework of Arch 201-Architectural Design I course, whose theme for this fall term was HousePlus: Hybrid building to accommodate Dwelling + [………...] Program: Establishing a Dialogue between the Contemporary and Historical Architecture in Shkodra, historical city center, a series of important events for the 2nd year Architecture students at EPOKA University took place. As a tradition established in EPOKA Architecture Department Design courses, the projects are envisioned in real context, thus the project site trips are an important part in the curricular education. On November the 15th, the 2nd year students and the course instructors Assist. Prof. Dr. Frida Pashako, M.Sc.Valbona Koçi and M.Sc.Artemis Hasa visited Shkodra and the project site. The trip was combined with a visit in the recently constructed Atelier-House of Adrian Paci, a world well-known artist from Shkodra. Adrian Paci himself, showed the group of EPOKA University around his house.
The process of design terminates with the Final Review of the students works in front of a Jury Panel, which this year was composed of very distinguished guests, among whom: Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Tirana - Dr. Adrianna Frisenna, and vice /director Maddalena Pessina; Eltjana Shkreli-Urban Planner_Board Member at 'GO2' [NGO of Sustainable Urban Mobility]; Mr. Ismail Asan – Secretary General of EPOKA University, Simon Battisti- Architect, Visiting instructor at EPOKA University, Graduate of Harvard University, Graduate School of Design, and many more faculty members teaching in the Department of Architecture. The works of the students received appreciation from the jury members. The Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Tirana - Dr. Adrianna Frisenna, and vice /director Maddalena Pessina were welcomed by the Rector of EPOKA University Prof. Dr. Remzi Altin, as well.
