The Vice Dean of the Faculty of History and Philology of Tirana University, researcher and historian, Prof. Dr. Valentina Duka held on November 14, 2012, an Open Forum with the students of Epoka University and discussed with them on issues related to the Albanian history during 1912 year and afterwards.
Professor Duka stated during her discussion entitled “The Albanian Declaration of Independence and the establishment of the Albanian state” that this is the most active period of the Albanian history. Epoka University students were introduced by Professor Duka with the efforts made by the Albanian political and patriotic elite for the Proclamation of the Albanian Independence and the efforts for the establishment of the state after independence.
Referring to the British archives and original documents found by her, that are more than 1,500 items, Prof. Dr. Valentina Duka shared with the students not only the positions of the Albanian political elite during this period, but also the attitude and stance of the London Conference of Ambassadors in the whole process of the Independence Declaration.
According to Professor Duka, the discovery of other voluminous documents creates the opportunity for a clear and deeper analysis by historians on this period. Prof. Dr. Valentina Duka also answered the questions made by students and at the end she thanked students and the staff for the shown hospitality.
