On December 18, 2012, Ms. Edit Dibra, Local Coordinator at the National Tempus Office in Albania and Ms. Elona Saraçi, Project Expert at this Office, carried out a monitoring visit at the premises of Epoka University on the implementation of the ongoing project titled “Innovation and Implementation of the Curriculum Vocational Studies in the Field of Digital Television and Multimedia” with Project No. TEMPUS-JPCR 517022-2011-RS, financed by the TEMPUS Program of the European Union. Epoka University participates as a partner institution in this project and is the first of the very few private higher education institutions in Albania to have benefited from the TEMPUS program. The project is implemented by a consortium consisting of 12 universities and other entities from Serbia, Albania, Montenegro, France, Slovenia and Bulgaria.
Members from the project teams of both Epoka University and Durres “Aleksander Moisiu” University, which is the other participating Albanian university in the consortium, delivered presentations on the implementation of the project in both institutions. The involvement of Epoka University in this project has enabled the enrichment of the curriculum of the Bachelor study program in Electronics and Communication Engineering so as to include courses on Multimedia and Digital TV in line with latest technological developments in this area.
The team from the National Tempus Office in Albania expressed its appreciation for the swift and proper implementation of the project by Epoka University and Durres “Aleksander Moisiu” University in compliance with the agreed timetable and encouraged the staff of both universities to prepare and submit other projects in the framework of the TEMPUS Program.
