On April 25, 2016, on the occasion of his visit at Epoka University, Prof. Michele Marsonet, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Dean of the School of Human Sciences at the University of Genoa, Italy, gave a Lectio Magistralis on “Globalization and National Identity”. Academic staff members and students of Epoka University participated in this Lectio Magistralis.
During his speech, Prof. Marsonet defined the main features of globalization stating that this process is inevitable. At the same time, Prof. Marsonet emphasized that the states are preserving their national identities by promoting their own culture and customs.
The lecture delivered by Prof. Masonet was followed by an interactive session with the staff and students of Epoka University.
After the Lectio Magistralis, the Rector of Epoka University, Prof. Dr. Güngör Turan and Prof. Marsonet held a meeting where they discussed about the possibilities of further developing bilateral cooperation with a particular focus on the encouragement of staff and student exchange as well as the involvement of both institutions in research projects of mutual interest.
Epoka University is currently involved in a three-year project financed by Erasmus + on “Strategic support for strengthening quality assurance structures at private higher education institutions in Albania”, where the University of Genoa is also a partner institution.
