His discussion was oriented toward EU Enlargement and Integration Process: Opportunities and Challenges. The session started with a brief information of the European Movement Albania and the focus of the activities and programs. The non-profit organization, European Movement Albania was established in 2007 as a response to increasing efforts of Albania to advance in the process of the European Integration. Mr. Gjipali gave a detailed review of the EU Enlargement, Euro-skepticism, the role of the Albanian political parties on the integration process, the impact on the Agriculture sector and its main challenges. The talk touched also the “mindset” of the civil society toward the EU integration.
The process towards integration is one of the most complicated and crucial parts that takes a lot of effort and time. In the end, the audience had several questions regarding the importance of the EU Enlargement, its institutional functions and the differences between political and technical reforms that the government of Albania is undertaking on the EU Integration process. As part of his concluding remarks, Mr.Gjipali called for more involvement of the youth either through participation in civil society or through academic and social projects in their areas of study.
