Seven new faculty members have joined Epoka University this year, bringing a wide range of expertise across diverse disciplines to strengthen our teaching and research profile in line with the international profile of our institution.
Asoc.Prof.Dr. Lisen Bashkurti
Mr. Bashkurti completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s at the University of Fine Arts in Tirana in 1980 and 1988 respectively. In 1995, the Albanian Scientific Evaluation Committee conferred to Mr. Bashkurti the PhD degree. Iliria University in Kosovo awarded the “Associate Professor” title to Mr. Bashkurti in 2000.
Professor Bashkurti is the President of Albanian Diplomatic Academy. He is an honorary professor in many prestigious European Universities and an honorary fellow to a number of prominent international institutions. He is a recipient of many international awards, including “Gold Medal” for his research on U.S.-Albanian Partnership,” “Four Silver Medals” for his great contribution during his service as Albania’s Ambassador to Hungary (1992-1993). He is the author of more than 18 books that cover a range of issues including International Affairs, Negotiations and Conflict Resolution, International Diplomacy, Multilateral Diplomacy and Diplomatic History.
Mr. Bashkurti has been part of the Adjunct academic staff of Epoka University since 2014. Starting from October 2017, Mr. Bashkurti is part of the full-time academic and administrative staff of Epoka University.
Dr. Chrysanthi Balomenou
Ms. Balomenou comes from Greece. She completed her Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD studies at Panteion University in Athens, Greece.
Ms. Balomenou was part of the Banking sector from 1981 to 2013. She worked as a Senior Bank Executive at the National Bank of Greece covering areas such as Marketing department, Analyst and Trainer and the Human Resources field. From 2001 to 2017, Ms. Balomenou was a Professor-Advisor at the Hellenic Open University in Greece. Ms. Balomenou has also an experience in Erasmus teaching staff mobility area dating from 2008 to 2017.
Dr. Patrice Kandolo Kabeya
Mr. Kabeya comes from the United Kingdom. He completed his Bachelor’s in Economics and Econometrics at the University of Kisangani, DR Congo, in 1993. Mr. Kabeya obtained a Master degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Kisangani (1994) and a Master in Economic Development and Project Planning from the University of Bradford, UK (2007). In 2015, Mr. Kabeya obtained his PhD degree from the University of Bradford in Economics and International Development.
During his PhD studies, Mr. Kabeya has been a teaching assistant for four years at Bradford University. He has been a part-time Lecturer at the University of Lincoln. From September 2014 to September 2017, Mr. Kabeya has been a Lecturer at Leeds Becket University in London. From October 2017, Mr. Kabeya is part of Epoka University, Department of Banking and Finance.
Dr. Naqeeb Ur Rehman
Mr. Rehman comes from Pakistan. In 2001, Mr. Rehman completed his Bachelor’s in Mathematics and Computer at the University of Peshawar, Pakistan. He obtained a Master in Public Administration in 2003 and a Master in Economics in 2008 from the University of Peshawar. In 2012, Mr. Rehman obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Glasgow in UK.
Regarding Mr. Rehman’s academic experience, he worked as a Lecturer in Management at Qurtuba University, Peshawar, from 2005-2006. From 2006-2007, Mr. Rehman worked as a Lecturer at Peshawar Business School. From 2012 to 2017, Mr. Rehman worked as Assistant Professor at the Hazara University Mansehra in Pakistan. From November 2017, Mr. Rehman will be part of Epoka University at the Department of Economics.
M.Sc. Erjon Gjoçi
Mr. Gjoçi completed his Bachelor’s at Colorado State University, USA, in 2009 and his Master’s at the University of Akron, USA in 2010. After working as a graduate Assistant at the University of Akron, USA, Mr. Gjoçi was part of OM Business Solutions company in USA as a Senior Business Analytics Consultant. His professional experience continued in USA working as the Vice President-Board of Directors at the Garfield Public Library, as Lecturer at the Williamson Paterson University and Senior Business Intelligence Designer at DST Systems Inc. Starting from October 2017, Mr. Gjoçi is part of Epoka University working as Assistant-Lecturer at the Department of Economics.
M.Sc. Hakan Yozgatlı
Mr. Yozgatlı comes from Turkey. He has completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s at Bosphorus University in 1998.
Mr. Yozgatlı has a wide experience in the Mathematics field working as Teacher at the Turkish colleges in Albania. He held also various managerial positions at these Turkish colleges such as Head of Maths department, Vice-Director and Director. From September 2017, Mr. Yozgatlı is part of the Department of Computer Engineering of Epoka University working as a full-time Assistant-Lecturer.
