Epoka University students win “Open Data Age Experience” Competition

Epoka University students win “Open Data Age Experience” Competition

Epoka students, part of Computer Engineering Department composed by Sabri Nuzi, Nertil Zhuri and Sidrit Reka participated at “Open Data Experience” competition and were awarded with the First Price. Their project was intended to bring in an accessible platform of information on primary health services such as: information on health centers, offered services, pharmacies, doctors and their specialties as well as medications, with a simple and interactive interface where information comes closer to non expert users.

The award ceremony took place at “ProTik” Center with the presence of the Minister of Innovation and Public Administration, different sponsors, participants and guests. The three finalists were invited to present their work and the closing ceremony of the “Innovation Week 2014”, were they got the attention of different public figures and company representatives. All three finalist projects were of a high quality and showed great professionalism among students.

Open Data Experience is a competition launched by the Ministry of Innovation and Public Administration and organized with the support of ProTik. The aim of this competition was the increase the transparency and the accessibility of data provided by government offices and public administration institutions. Students of public and private institutions were encouraged to build innovative web applications in the ICT field.

Epoka University congratulates the other two groups as well (both students representing the Polytechnic University of Tirana) for their achievements.
