In May 2014, the Economics Department in collaboration with the Career Planning and Alumni Office of Epoka University started their project titled “Graduate Skills and Employability at the Labor Market: Graduates' Expectations and Employers' Perspective”. The project team led by Prof. Dr. Güngör Turan, Professor in labor economics and social policies was composed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eglantina Hysa, Associate Professor in development studies, Mergleda Hodo, research assistant of the economics department and Marsela Fejzaj, Specialist at the Career Planning and Alumni Office. The project was successfully selected to be funded by the Research and Project Office of Epoka University.
The general objective of this project was to determine to what extent graduates of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) feel they are prepared and skilled for the labour market. In addition, it aimed at finding out how departments of FEAS of Epoka University/Dean of Students Office could contribute to the graduates enhancing their employability in the current turbulent economic situations. The Project results draw important recommendations for FEAS to adjust and make the necessary rearrangements to better adapt in the labour market. This kind of study has been conducted for the first time at Epoka University and can serve as a successful model for other units as well.
The project has been published as case study version by Epoka Publications Press and can also be found in the Albanian National Library with the ISBN 978-9928-135-17-9. Finally, the study has been included as a book chapter in the third book in the series, Research on Business, from Peter Lang Edition Germany.
