On October 11, 2016, the Ministry for Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship (MEDTTE) with the support of the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) organised a Forum of Stakeholders. The purpose of this forum was to present the Action Plan 2016 - 2020 “Support for the Development of Innovation Policies Based on the Triple Helix Approach” and had an open discussion with participants and stakeholders involved in this project.
Albania is actively working on improving Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) policies to strengthen competitiveness. In line with these efforts, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) programme for South East Europe, in collaboration with key stakeholders in Albania, has carried out the review “Best Practices on Business-Academia-Government Cooperation for Innovation for Albania”. The report is based on the triple helix methodology which has proven to be an effective tool to stimulate innovation facilitating synergies between the partners.
Epoka University has actively participated in all of the meetings of this kind by being one of the representatives of Albanian academic bodies and research institutions. In this context, the Rector of Epoka University, Prof. Dr. Güngör Turan and the Head of the Economics Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eglantina Hysa, participated in the forum of stakeholders.
