In the last Call of ERASMUS+ of 2014/2015, Epoka University engaged in two projects under Erasmus+ Programme funded by the European Commission.
The first project that was granted by the European Commission is “Strategic support on strengthening the quality assurance structures at the private higher education institutions in Albania”, project no. 561510-EPP-1-2015-1-AT-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP (QAinAL), under the call KA2-Capacity for innovation and the exchange of good practices – Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education (Call for proposal EAC/A04/2014). This Project is leaded by Salzburg University while Epoka University is an equal partner in the project’s consortium.
The wider project objective is to establish and support quality assurance processes and mechanisms to ensure effective management and enhance teaching and learning at the private higher education institutions in Albania. The Project aims to support the private higher education institutions in Albania to achieve the priorities of the two key documents: “Increasing the impact of EU Development: an Agenda for Change” and “European Higher Education in the World”. The project addresses, the national priority for Joint Project, quality assurance processes and mechanisms, under category C – improving management and operation of higher education institutions.
The project has officially started on October 15, 2015 and will end on October 14, 2018.
Meanwhile, in the second project, number 561485-EPP-1-2015-AT-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP, named “Curriculum Development joint European Political Science MA”, Epoka University is a strategic partner and will attend different activities related to the projects.
This ambitious project was initiated by the Salzburg University, Austria, and seeks to develop a joint master degree that will be recognized throughout the European Union. The final goal of the project is to develop a joint master degree in Political Sciences where Albanian students will study one year in an EU University and one year in Albania, and their master thesis will be led by two supervisors as well, thus this will improve considerably their academic and professional preparation. The project officially has started on October, 2015 and will end on October 2018.
