CoRDA and the Department of Architecture in the shortlist of the International Urban Design Competition: DURANA region

Center of Research and Design in Architecture (CoRDA) together with the Department of Architecture participated in the International Urban Design Competition for DURANA region (Tirana-Durres Economic Corridor). The team composed of CoRDA, Atelier Le Balto,  InterBAU/Tu Berlin and Universal Studio resulted successful in stage one, where it was selected to participate with their design in Lot 1.

DURANA- International Urban Design Competition was launched by Atelier Albania (AA), the Ministry of Urban Development and Tourism (MUDT) and the National Territorial Planning Agency (NTPA), with the main of aim of improving the urban condition on the main economic corridor between Tirana and Durres. The corridor, in an organizational point of view was split into three main segments/lots, where the First Stage Jury made a selection of 6 teams, 2 per each lot. The competition will result in the selection of three teams, who will provide a fully equipped team to be engaged in the after-competition process that is the execution phase.

The second stage, which predicts a detailed Concept Design Project, will determine the winner team of each lot.
