This summer thanks to Epoka University and especially thanks to my professor, Dr. Yavuz Yardim, I had the great opportunity to have the internship at one of the most prestigious and well-known universities of the world, the University of Texas at Austin, US.
I worked as an intern research assistant at the Center for Transportation Research, more specifically at Texas Pavement Preservation Center, under the close supervision of the director of this center. During the time I was there I had the chance to expand my knowledge in transportation engineering and to conduct research tests at the laboratory.
I was really lucky to be integrated at UT community and delighted to attend the lessons of the most well-known professors of the world. This was a very beautiful and valuable experience that went beyond the professional aspect. It helped me to see the world from a different point of view, to grab the opportunities given, to spend every minute of my life wisely and not wastefully. And finally, I had the absolute benefit of meeting great people.
The atmosphere there was surrounded by innovation that can be perfectly described by the logo of UT: “What starts here, changes the world” This atmosphere made me confident and raised inside of me the strong desire to be part of this community again. Being there was like a dream and I really didn’t want to wake up…
