EPOKA University recently hosted the Stage 2 "Discovery and Verification Workshop" as part of the GreenWB initiative, aimed at fostering green innovation and entrepreneurial skills among students in higher education. The workshop, held on March 6, 2024, marked a significant milestone in the university's commitment to enhancing its entrepreneurial and innovation capacities.

The GreenWB project seeks to develop the university's entrepreneurial and innovation capacities through the establishment of Living Labs, while also enhancing cooperation with enterprises to bolster the regional innovation ecosystem. The project aligns with broader objectives to support innovative learning and teaching, as well as to facilitate the development of student entrepreneurs.

During the workshop, participants engaged in comprehensive analysis and interpretation of institutional data obtained through the HEINNOVATE  self-assessment tool for Higher Education. The primary goal was to identify areas of strength and weakness across various dimensions, ultimately formulating action plans to enhance entrepreneurial and innovative capacities within the university.

Key objectives of the GreenWB initiative include analyzing and understanding knowledge transfer, innovation, and green entrepreneurial infrastructure, setting up Innovation Living Labs, and developing capacities of Living Labs Officers. Additionally, the initiative aims to increase knowledge transfer and joint activities between EPOKA University and local enterprises, ultimately fostering self-employability and practical placement opportunities for students.

Participants gained insights into priority areas for improvement, particularly in Knowledge Exchange and Entrepreneurial Teaching and Learning, setting the stage for collaborative efforts between academia and industry.

Looking ahead, EPOKA University anticipates the Stage 3 workshop, focusing on implementation and impact, as the next step in advancing the GreenWB initiative. Through continued collaboration and innovation, the university remains dedicated to nurturing a culture of entrepreneurship and sustainability within its ecosystem.
